Believe In What’s Possible

Generation Z is being gaslit by politics.

We are told we are disengaged - that we don’t care, don’t listen, and don’t vote. And yet, Gen Z has never had full access to the tools, space, or power we need to engage. This is not the fault of youth - it is the fault of political systems that do not include us. It is time for this to change.

Youth-centered & Youth-led

Believe In What’s Possible works to reveal, center, and support youth leadership in Minnesota’s political processes. Together, we plan to increase voter turnout by 5% in the 2024 state primaries in 3 target geographies - Minneapolis, St. Paul, and St. Cloud.

Turn Up to Turn Out

A summer event series held during the primary early voting period that sparks sustained political engagement, encourages artistic expression, and inspires voting - all while surrounded by good music and good friends!

The Scheme Space

A recurring youth-led meeting space for political discussion, relationship-building, leadership development, co-conspiring, and fun! No political experience necessary!

Civic Cheat Codes

A high school-based event series on mapping and mobilizing power as youth in Minnesota. Our work takes many forms, including workshops and open-source content management.

  • “I grew up in a political climate that hasn’t created much room for imagination and community building. Having a space to celebrate our voices and dreams outside of simply voting has changed my relationship with civic engagement entirely."

    Nick Broske (he/him)

  • “When I was in high school, I discovered that my voice had the power to make a difference. The more I learned, the more I felt the need to take action.”

    Cati Gomez (they/them)

  • “BIWP gives me hope in times when I think that so many things are going wrong. It provides a safe atmosphere to learn, grow, and meet new friends. I don’t feel judged for not knowing certain things about my community or neighborhood."

    Richa Vijayvergiya (she/her)

  • "We created BIWP to transform how MN politics speaks to and about our generation."

    Chelsea Sheldon (she/her)
